This Privacy Policy describes how Virus 404 ("we", "us", "our", "the App") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile game.

1. What we collect

1.1 Information you provide

We do not ask for or collect any personally identifiable information directly. The App does not require account creation, sign-in, or contact data.

1.3 Stored locally

Game progress (bytes, upgrades, prestige, statistics) — stored only on your device via Hive database.
Your settings (language, sound on/off, ads disabled flag) — local only.
We do not sync your save to cloud servers in v1.0.

2. Third-party services

2.1 Google AdMob (advertising)

We use AdMob to serve rewarded video and interstitial ads. AdMob may collect:

Advertising ID (AAID).
IP address (for fraud prevention).
Device info (model, OS).

EU/UK users: before showing personalized ads, we display a Google UMP consent dialog. You may choose non-personalized ads.

2.2 Google Play Billing (in-app purchases)

For purchases, Google Play handles all payment processing. We never see your card or financial information. Read Google Play Privacy.

3. Children (under 13)

Virus 404 is rated PEGI 7+ / ESRB Everyone. We follow COPPA (US), GDPR-K (EU), and Google Play Families policy:

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
For users under 13, we request non-personalized ads from AdMob.
If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us — we will delete it.

4. GDPR (EU/UK rights)

If you are in the European Economic Area or UK, you have the following rights:

Access: request what data we hold about you.
Erasure: request deletion of your data.
Rectification: correct inaccurate data.
Portability: receive your data in machine-readable format.
Object: object to processing for direct marketing.
Withdraw consent: for ad personalization, change in Google UMP dialog any time.

5. CCPA (California rights)

California residents may request:

Categories of personal info we collected.
"Do Not Sell My Info" — we do not sell data; we share only with AdMob (advertising partner).
Delete request via support email.

6. Data retention

Local game data: stored until you uninstall the App.
AdMob/Billing logs: retained per Google's policy (typically 18-26 months).
Crash reports: anonymized, retained 90 days.

7. Security

Data on device is stored using Hive (encrypted-at-rest if device is encrypted).
No data is transmitted to our servers (we have none).
AdMob/Billing communication uses HTTPS.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via in-app banner at next launch. Effective date above shows the latest revision.
